Man survives blow to head from CTA train
A 20-year-old man survived a blow to the side of the head Wednesday after being hit by a train on the Belmont platform.
The Chicago Tribune reports (reg. req.) the man was bent over the platform and was struck on the left side of the head by a train arriving at the station.
Ouch.
I've had bad dreams about dropping something at the platform's edge, and instinctively bending to pick it up as the train whooshes into the station.
I'm happy the guy survived.
People, be careful out there.
God Damn that had to have hurt! He is damn lucky it wasn't a lot worse!

This occurred shortly after a Cubs game, I'm thinking it might have been alcohol related.

Hi Dog, good point about the Cubs game and the accident being possibly alcohol-related. That doesn't make it less horrifying, maybe just less likely to happen to sober people.
