Wild and crazy Cubs fans

The Red Line Series begins anew this weekend, this time with Wrigley Field and the Cubs hosting the White Sox.

And how 'bout dem Cubs fans? They sure can be some kinda nuts. Over the years I've seen Cubs fans crowd the car at Addison going north, disrupting the post-work haze that commuters trying to get home often find themselves in.

What I've seen over the years from Cubs fans:

** Vomiting.

** Vulgar language spewed between guys at opposite ends of the car. (Oh my!)

** Loud and obnoxious cell phone callers. ("Oh man, Sammy hit one out on Waveland I had six beers!")

** Guys tossing folding chairs across the aisle.

** Suburban moms and dads trying to protect their kids from all the above.

Tell me what YOU have seen here.

I hate, hate HATE going home and realizing that a Cubs game has just ended.

No offense to any polite Cubs' fans, but some of your brethren obviously have never been on a train in their life. They have no concept of holding on to something as the train moves, or not bumping into or all onto other passengers.

There was a guy whose kid kept falling into me, to the point his dad had to politely ask him to stop doing it. (I was glaring at the dad, not at the kid.)

I have the same impatience for Cubs fans that get on the train downtown along with daily communters. Invariably there are young suburban professional types that are angered that people on the train aren't giving them the space that they feel they deserve on the train and how bad it is to ride the train etc, in the loudest possible speaking they can manage, making the ride home for communters endlessly unpleasant, makes it impossible to read. Also guys pumped up with a few beers yelling at each other at the top of their lungs in order to converse with their buddies as though they were in a noisy barroom.
