A song for Jesus

I sit next to a 35-year-old woman intently reading a binder filled with church music.

As the train picks up speed and noise in the tunnel, she begins singing softly to herself, with eyes closed. She's not real loud or obnoxious. In fact, she has a fine voice.

She's singing "Jesus Thou My Heart's Delight."

I also occasionally see a lady (40ish) on the Blue Line that sings (more like hums) while reading sheet music. It always takes me awhile to figure where this strange sound is coming from ... then I locate here. It's got to be real strange for the person sitting in the seat next to her.

Too bad the same can't be said for those who wail away in the Jackson station every day. You can't play loud music on the trains, but they let these tone deaf idiots bother those waiting all afternoon.
