New CTA ads ARE rocket science
A rocket scientist helped develop the concept behind new ads that "turns a subway wall into a makeshift movie screen," the Sun-Times reports today.
The new ads for Target sound pretty cool. They're on the wall in the Blue Line subway near Clark/Lake. I don't ride the Blue Line much, so all you Blue Line riders, let us know how you like them.
I saw this for the first time today. I wasn't paying much attention until someone else pointed it out. It looked kind of surreal as you are going through the tunnel. I'll have to get a better look at it next week.

I saw it this morning, between Clark & Lake and Washington. I was watching for it, but even when it happened it caught me off guard. It's like the TV commercials, a series of short scenes (blowing little target symbols like dandelion fluff, etc.). I think it was on the outside wall, and I was looking at the reflection on the opposite windows. All in all, cool but a little freaky.

It was a pretty weird experience. Reminded me very much of the train scene in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
This was on a very early saturday morning and I was half-awake. I almost thought I dreamt it.

I saw one today on the Blue Line. At first I thought it was someone projecting a movie on the wall, it looked really cool...until I realized it was for Hummer. Definitely Willy Wonka-esque though.

I looked for it on friday and I couldn't see it. I was going to be really pissed that I'm the only seeing blind lady that can't see this long virtual screen. This morning I saw it....It was awesome. I would actually like to see more of those put up so we're not looking at a blank dark wall.

The animated billboard seems to be in the southbound tunnel only.
I keep seeing the same Hummer H2 ad, but I did notice a name at the bottom of the display, "SUBMEDIA." I think I found the website of the company too, http://www.sub-media.com. (Remember the hyphen, you go to a different site with out it. )

I love that CTA commercial with the gas pump ticking higher and higher and the guy moaning at the soaring cost.
Having that as a ring tone would be awesone - does anyone have that?
