Blogger rides an "El marathon"

Thanks to Tom at the Underscorebleach blog for alerting me to this fellow who rode almost every last mile of the CTA El system. (He did it on the weekend when the Skokie Swift is closed.)

Great pictures and stories.

Now why didn't I think of that!

Amazing.

Maybe you could organize a Tattler Tour?

I didn't do it in one day, but I have ridden every mile of CTA track and gotten off at all of the stations.

There was a Discovery/PBS special a few years ago that covered the NYC subway, and a segment of the show followed a group of people who did a subway marathon thru every station in 24 hours.

Maybe the Tattler could get some crazy show like "190 North" to follow a Chicago group around... ;-)

There was a PBS WTTW 11 special called "Chicago by El" a few years ago...it's at the Harold Washington Library if anyone is interested.

My roommate and I have done this. We were sure to collect... uh... unneeded signs and system maps from the railcars as well :)

The guy who does the Chicago by L video tour is a docent for the Architecture Foundation and has done a number of these tours. I think the boat tour was the first one he did.
