CTA security chief boasts stellar credentials

Interesting story in the Sun-Times today (via Gapersblock) by Mark Konkol about the CTA's security chief. Pat Daly sounds like a good guy, and certainly well-qualified for the job:

"At a glance, the only hint of Pat Daly's law enforcement pedigree is his Barney Miller mustache.

"But his resume reveals a career stretching from the streets of Oak Park -- where he once worked as a police officer -- to Puerto Rico, where he retired last year as the FBI's San Juan station chief.

"In between, Daly hunted Ted "Unabomber" Kaczynski, investigated the first World Trade Center bombing in New York City, picked through federal building rubble in Oklahoma City and watched his back as terrorists put a bounty on his head.

"Daly was with the FBI for 21 years and now is the CTA's $116,000-a-year vice president of security and training -- responsible for the safety of a transit system that every workday handles 1.5 million riders."
