When Bluetooth reveals blue bloods

Someone here once commented about Cubs fans on the CTA that it is the suburbanites who display the worst behavior, worse than out-of-towners.

A group got on at Addison after an afternoon game. There was a young couple in their early-20s, a couple guy friends of theirs, and an older felow who looked like he might be her dad. They were chatting away, when Bluetooth revealed the Blue Blood in them.

The woman starting telling her friends: " Well you know, the Bluetooth is built in to our BMW. you don't have to answer the phone, it answers for you."

A little later, she leaned across the aisle and asked: "Dad, do all the seats in first calls tilt all the way back? You know, even in the back row?"

"Well, that depends on the type of airplane," he replied. "The 737 does but the 757 is much better...."

I got off in the city, but I'm sure they switched to the Purple Line and no doubt exited in Wilmette.

Comments

They don't sound like blue bloods. Blue bloods don't flaunt their wealth in public and consider BMWs vulgar and ostentatious. Those people were very likely nouveau riche.

What makes CHICAGO look even worse is having the city's reputation be defended by someone who cannot even spell its name correctly.

And a Loyola matriculant to boot! I'm so ashamed of my alma mater! And, Ryan dahling, I've been called worse by better, believe me.

I don't think anyone outside of Chicago reads this blog, so I doubt any comments are going to reflect negatively on its reputation :)

Also, who cares what other people think?

I'm just happy that they took the train and didn't drive down to the game. As much as it annoys me when I see burbies staggering and lurching on trains to Cubs/Sox games, its btter then them taking their cars and adding to the traffic problems in this city.

take it from this wilmetter. (wilmetian? wilmettite?) We're not all lexus-loving, smoothie-slinging, lawn-care using aristocrats.
