Wireless alerts a big hit
Y'all like the idea of wireless alerts of CTA problems.
Fifty (50) CTA Tattler readers signed up for the alerts today. Gapersblock.com recognized the coolness of it.
Most excellent!
Now remember, we use this system (hopefully) sparingly and judiciously. When you have real-time, good information about CTA system outages or major problems, send a text message to 48802 on your dial.
The message can be no longer than 120 characters. The shorter the better.
There is power among the masses. Let us exert it!
I see we got our first real-time alert overnight. It appears the Brown Line was down for an hour so starting around 4 a.m. Thanks Archangel. That's what it's all about.

You're welcome. I guess insomnia sometimes is a benefit!

I think CTA and RTA are actually coming up with a way to do this via email alerts, like Orbitz can send you pages about late flights. The real time customer insights are useful, but hopefully getting an official notification about service disruption will help as well.

how can we keep people from texting us every time someone signs up for this program? i do not want to pay 10 cents for each new person who signs up. how can we stop this - it's costing all of us money!!!
