A most-welcome CTA scent
Most of us have endured assaults to our olfactory glands while riding the CTA -- whether it's the urine pooling at the end of the platform, or another passenger's excess perfume or lack of deodorant.
I think it's safe to say most of those sensory experiences are quite unpleasant.
That's why it's a special treat when, as you climb the stairs at the Grand Avenue Red Line station, the luscious aroma of chocolate-making from Blommer's Chocolate tickles your nose, and then fully caresses the Bowman's gland.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh.......
So it wasn't just me who noticed that sweet smell this morning. It's mornings like these that make me glad I made Chicago my home.

I don't know about all the rest of you, but I don't want ANYTHING even REMOTELY connected to the CTA tickling ANY of my glands. End of discussion. :)

A similar pleasure: coming down from the Purple Line Davis Street platform, just after they've baked something wonderful at Bennison's Bakery. Breathing is goooooood.

I've been smelling this on and off for the past year, and none of my friends believed me! It reminds me of baking chocolate chip cookies!
