Watch out for these suspicious gift ideas

Here's another installment of  CTA gift ideas for this holiday season. Today we look at the more offbeat gift ideas, such as a T-shirt or print with some funny mass-transit-oriented cartoons.

Suspiciouspackage In particular I like the cartoon warning passengers to "please be on the lookout for suspicious-looking packages." Of course it depicts a very suspicious-looking package. Another shows an loud speaker blaring the announcement that "passengers are asked to evacuate the station as a train has arrived suspiciously on time." Marvelous!

My daughter suggested passengers could ask their loved ones for some portable Airwicks to leave on a car with especially foul-smelling cargo -- human or otherwise. "Enjoy the benefit of Scented Oil without the limit of a plug. Plus batteries are supplied. " Who could ask for more!

Finally, if you're really stuck, you can go to Target's Web site and find some neato gift ideas. And who knew that "Commuting" was a "Popular Pastime" just a click away under "Gifts for Him"? I know it's one my MY favorite pastimes.

One of the items on that pages is "Cook’n on the Go Palm OS Software." Tough I'm not sure if they are advocating cooking while you're on the El, or looking up recipes on your way home.

That Suspicious Package reminds me of the Cheat Commandos from Homestar Runner.

Totally Meghan!

The idea of leaving Airwicks make me think of CTA Guerrilla Warfare. Citizens in small groups improving public transport through guerilla tactics.
