A moment of understanding
My daughter reports this encounter while coming home from school last week.
A 40-ish African American man is intently reading "The Black Man's Guide to Understanding the Black Woman."
My smart-ass daughter laughs and asks: "Did it work?"
He replied: " I don't know honey. I think I just realized I need the book 'The Black Man's Guide to Understanding the White Woman.' "
That's oddly appropriate for a holiday honoring a slain civil rights hero. :)

The modern white woman is so confusing, I think EVERYONE needs a book about how to understand her.
If it's not fancy shoes, it's shiny wet looking lip gloss that they're all up in arms about having misplaced or needing more of. And then there's the addiction to Desperate Housewives. Wild times, trying to understand even one of them.
