Naked encounter with the railing

The Grand Avenue platform was crowded as the Red Line spews passengers out and I worm my way to the escalator.

Just as I approach the mouth of the entrance, I hear a woman loudly exclaim "OUCH!"

She had run her hip into the red railing at the escalator's base because she wasn't paying attention to where she was going.

She was too busy reading David Sedaris' "Naked" as she walked.

actually, i can totally understand.
it's a really good book.

Would you be interested in doing a story on your blog about I-GO Car Sharing, Chicago’s only non-profit car sharing program? (Our locations are near public transit stops.) We have 50 cars throughout Chicago and we cover insurance and gas. Membership is $75 the first year, $25 each year after that. Usage of the car on the Standard Plan is $6/hour, 50 cents a mile. As you can see, our service can really help out a lot of Chicagoans. Please help us get the word out. We really want to help people save money, reduce traffic congestion and improve the air quality.

Thank you,

Low blows to the CTA aside, I don't think you made a very convincing case.

You can buy some magic beans from me for $8. As you can see, my service can really help out the human race.

Quite a jump from A to B there.

(I won't comment on how car sharing does nothing to reduce pollution. Cars burn just as much gas even when they have multiple owners.)

jrock, do you ever take the bus? You could make the same argument about buses as you do about car-sharing.

Why even suffer through traffic. How about we start our own helicopter business and drop people off on top of their buildings downtown :) Screw the CTA and rush hour!

That's my dream! I think about this every day, looking up to the sky, waiting in a 'slow zone' for a CTA bus.

To dream.....
