It takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'
A Tattler rider shared this photo with me last week.
It's the aftermath of a car hitting a bus shelter at the WNW corner of the Armitage/Sedgwick/Lincoln intersection.
What's truly impressive is that none of the glass windows shattered. A piece lies on the ground unbroken. Amazing!

Wow, I wish all my stuff was made like that.

I think those are plastic. That is an old shelter, not one of the Decaux new ones. I think the reason the sides "fogged" was that it was not glass.

I wonder what the car looked like

i miss those old shelters.
the new ones fog, too, just not as much because they have openings at the top to release the warm air, it has nothing to do with the material.

Too bad the one at Irving Park & Clark did not fare so well - I wish I had my camera with me at the time. By the way, it was a new shelter, and the glass did shatter, but it was safety glass & held together, mostly.

Too bad they couldn't have taken out the Red Eye box instead.
