"Da Bears" echoes through train car
Aboard the Red Line heading north late on Saturday night before the NFC championship game, a 40-ish guy tries to rouse a crowded Red Line train leaving Wilson. This was after spying a teen-age girl wearing a Bear scarf.
"All right, oh yeah, on the count of three, Da Bears! One, Two, Three: Da Bears!!!!"
Just the two of them - "DA BEARS!"
"C'mon everybody, C'mon! One more time: One, Two, Three! DA BEARS!"
Well, four or five people that time.
Obviously at that time, they didn't know Da Bears are heading to the Super Bowl! Whoo-Hoo!
Do you think the team will take the Blue Line to O'Hare for their trip to Miami?
I was on a NB 146 that was full of people going home (or somewhere) from the game. From the attitude on the bus, I was sure they lost. No one was even smiling. I suppose now they were semi-comatose from the cold and the damp and the beer.

I'm extremely happy about our Bears!!!!!! We need some good news around here. Whether you're on the north or southside, we ALL support our Bears!
On the side note, it's easy to see why our people are not so excited on the trains. Um, the majority of us are commuting 1 1/2 - 2 hours each way PER DAY. And it's not to go very far at all. This is in addition to our work day.
Do you think if the CTA top management, Mayor Daley and these Aldermen actually took the train on a daily basis, that these problems would exist? I highly doubt it.

The bears won't DARE take the Blue Line to O'Hare if they want to get to Miami before April. Hell, if they want to get to O'Hare before St. Patrick's Day....
