Chicago bloggers chat on WTTW's Chicago Tonight
Phil Ponce of WTTW's Chicago Tonight will grill three of Chicago's "newsiest bloggers" at 7 pm Wednesday -- Andrew Huff of Gapers Block, Rachelle Bowden of Chicagoist, and yours truly, Kevin O'Neil of the very same blog you're reading, CTA Tattler.
Strange things like this happen when Chicago Magazine names your blog of the Chicago's "newsiest."
And it will be great to finally meet Rachelle. I met Andrew a couple of weeks ago at a Gapers Block soiree.
So tune in and see if I can avoid making a fool of myself.
Rachelle's really cool. I had a blast working with her and Scott on the 'L' tour I did last year.

Kevin
Great that you are on CHICAGO TONIGHT on Wed.. But make sure Phil does not ambush you or sideswip you a issue or statement.
He is known in the industry to do that at times. Some times he is a frat boy in focus
But we all know you can hold you mudd.
Have a great show. We will be watching
GO CTA TATTLER

Gapers Block and Chicagoist just regurgitate news from the Trib and SunTimes. You do so much more here - a lot more original content. I hope that comes through tonight.

Kevin, you're a star! Nice job taking Kruesi to task for the 3-track debacle. Emmet screamed at you on TV.

Watched you on a rerun of CHICAGO TONIGHT..
Thought it was great!
I have been riding the CTA faithfully ever since I moved to Chicago--almost seven years ago.
Do I have some "stories" to tell!

You did a nice job on the show...which is why I am a first time visitor, today. I have lived with the Southport El stop in my backyard...yup...right in my backyard...since 1989. I have been fortunate to have a Loop job since that time, so have riden the El many thousands of times. I do not know if a site such as this exists anywhere else. But, there does need to be an organized forum for citizens to speak out. (Note the demise this week of the Neighborhood Capital Budget Group). If this is that, then...you've got a regular visitor. I no longer ride the El except in a pinch. I ride my bike, or walk. I can cover the 4.8 miles in under 75 minutes...not much worse at rush hour than the El on a bad day! I've dropped 30 pounds in a year of this habit. And, I don't have to live the nonsense you document here. Keep up the (high paying ;) good work!

I also caught you on the wee hours rerun. Now I'm riding the Orange in the Loop reading CTA Tattler on my Treo. I moved here two months ago. Gave up my Toyota for a CTA Chicago Card Plus and love it. Of course, I live at the Roosevelt stop in South Loop, where I think I'm lucky to avoid the misery of the impending "progress at a price" service slowdowns on the North Side for the next few years. ;-)

I was in the subway this AM, at Clybourn and besides waiting about 25 min for a train, I actually saw some workers changing out a couple of advertising posters. Do you think you need 5 guys to trade out a couple of posters? One to do the work, one to supervise and three to observe. I wonder how much they get paid to observe? Sad but typical.
