Who let one loose?
This Tattler gem comes from my wife:
I had just reached the top of the Davis platform, and was walking past a clutch of about six people waiting for the southbound Evanston Purple Line. As I passed, one of them let loose with just about the loudest fart I had ever heard. Loud and long.
I kept my composure -- stifling the urge to laugh -- and continued walking. When I got about 10 feet past them, I turned around and looked to see if I could figure out which one had passed gas. As soon as I turned, a woman in her late 30s, dark ponytail and black glasses just smiled at me and gave an exaggerated shrug with her shoulders her hands upraised and pushed out to the side, like -- "well, it could happen to the best of us, and it happened to me." A priceless look.
Let he who has not farted cast the first stone.
I got on the Purple Line at Fullerton going to the Loop this morning at 7:30am. There had been one announcement while on the platform that there were "delays on the Purple Line," but one pulled up shortly afterwards. The ride did not seem delayed at all and as we were leaving Merchandise Mart, the driver announces "next stop Washington and Wells" as though that was completely normal! Passengers then flowed off the train at Washington and Wells to start walking, and I heard someone asked him what was going on. He just said that there "has been a power outage at Randolph all morning and Purple Line trains are running on the outside track" Where was the announcement about this? I checked the CTA website when I got to work and the only alert was about interrupted southbound service on the Blue Line. The driver didn't even tell us if the train could go all the way around the Loop due to the outage, so I had to walk across the Loop to Michigan and Lake. Thank God the weather was warmer today!! Again, why was there never an announcement that the Purple Line was running on the outside track? Did anyone else encounter this?

I got on a Purple Line train at Belmont around 7:40 and the ride was stop and go all the way past Armitage. We actually sat just short of Armitage for about 5 minutes apparently waiting for a Brown Line train to clear the station. It was about 8:10 by the time we got downtown. They must have restored power to Randolph by then since we stopped at Clark/Lake as usual. After waiting for the Green line for 10 minutes on an increasingly crowded platform I decided to hoof it across the river to work.

Wait, what does all this have to do with farts? :)

I prefer to fart in large grocery stores, Costco or Home Depot!
They're so noisy, no one can hear it, but they will get to smell it.
It's also fun to do it in an empty elevator just before the doors close & it goes to another floor!

My uncle went to the doctor, and complained about how he was farting so much. He noted that they made a lot of noise, but didn't smell. The doctor wrote him a prescription, and told him to come back in two weeks.
When he went back to the doctor, my uncle was really upset. Now the farts smell to the high heavens! Then the doctor said to him, "Now that we have your nose fixed, let's get working on those farts."
