The choice: An arrest, or ass-whoopin'?
Cmama recently shared this fascinating bus story. Since I don't ride the bus so much, I miss these great stories. Thanks for sharing, Cmama:
Last night, some lady spit on the bus driver and he called the police. The woman got on the Green Line and was waiting for the train when the police showed up to arrest her.
Everybody on the bus agreed she's lucky she ONLY got arrested, because as one passenger said, "if she's bold enough to spit on a person, then she should be able to take an ass whooping."
Only problem is now the bus in a half hour late leaving the train station (along with traffic way backed up since they can't go around the bus on the street) and we had to wait for the next bus. Very entertaining, but I was looking forward to catching the earlier bus and getting home 15 minutes earlier.
Wow. Spitting on someone is pretty degrading and is probably more ass-whuppin' incentive over slapping them.
Cmama, did you get an idea of why this lady spat on the driver? Did she seem provoked beyond sanity?

When I got off the train I saw Oak Park Police up on the platform and they looked really serious and determined to get where ever they needed to go on that platform. That's about where I pick up in this whole ordeal. People on the bus and the bus driver said she just didn't want to pay the fare and the driver wasn't gonna move unless she paid or got off. The driver called the police to escort her off the bus and while he was calling she got up and spit on him..... Oh yeah, did I mention this was during rush hour so the bus was really crowded and just got worst when we waited for the second bus.
