Ominous Tattoo Girl
I saw these two items tattooed on the shoulders and forearms of a 20-something Asian woman:
- A boom box
- A musical staff with notes
And these two phrases:
- A killer in me is a killer in you
- A pretty girl is a perfect grave

Hopefully you just transcribed that tattoo wrong (or else she's going to be very unhappy with the typos on her arms someday) because the first slogan is a line from the chorus of a Smashing Pumpkins song titled "Disarm" however the lyric is: "THE killer in me is THE killer in you".

Disarm - Smashing Pumpkins lyrics
And the second slogan might be explained as this (again, maybe your transcription is wrong?):
"Pretty Girls Make Graves was an indie rock band, formed in Seattle in 2001, named after The Smiths song of the same name[1] (which came from a Jack Kerouac quote)." - from Wikipedia

Well Adam, you've made it glaringly obvious that I'm terrible at band lyrics and indie rock.

Since the lyrics are from an older Pumpkins album, I'm gonna guess and say the "pretty girls make graves" was a reference to The Smiths as opposed to the band of the same name as the quote. Not sure, tho.
I wonder what the notes were to. No chance you remembered a couple, Kevin? Can we play "Name that Tune?" ;)

The comment of her getting upset about a mistake that was, for all intents and purposes, hers reminds me of that nimrod earlier this year that got all upset when he got a tattoo that read "Chi-Tonw".
