Boxing up your car exhaust pipe
I love it when I see someone carrying something strange onto the CTA, you know, like gumball machines, tires and swords. And I thought that this qualifies. The box was really too high up, but it sure looks like parts of a car exhaust pipe, doesn't it?

The two most extraordinary things I've seen carried on public transport were a Christmas tree, and an entire bed.

Hey, that could have been me with the Christmas tree. In the late 70s,I used to bring the Christmas tree home on the Broadway bus. There was a tree lot on Clar somewhere south of Diversey; I lived at Briar and Broadway. The lot had a machine that put a net sleeve over the tree so it was nice and compact. After humping it up the steps, I just sat on a front bench seat with the tree between my knees.

I was on a Western bus one day that was full of people with their animals. The animals were all in carriers, but still, there were a lot of them. Mostly cats, but there was a parrot in a cage.

This is absolutely clever!!! I've seen a guy bring a lawn mower and a red can of gasoline on the bus. He attempted to SPill the Gasoline!!! Weirdo!
