Weekend Loop El work again -- and Red Line subway closed
OK folks, sorry, I messed up. I didn't see the customer alert noting that the Red Line subway would be closed this weekend. So the Red Line will indeed be sharing tracks with the Orange, Brown, Pink and Green lines this weekend.
I know the latest unending series of re-routes/slow zone work is getting my eyes crossed, I don't know how Kevin keeps up.
I can't find ANY reference to the Weekend Loop El work this weekend. I think that ONLY the Red line is being redirected via Lake and Wabash in both directions this weekend. Also, as mentioned, all of Yellow and Blue from Cumberland to Rosemont is ot, using bus shuttles this weekend.
Green, Brown, Orange, and Pink looks normal via the Loop for this weekend. Any takers???

Perhaps the CTA changed their weekend plans today? It's not what I remember them posting earlier, but then again, my eyes are still crossed.
Here's the CTA update:

My fear is the Skokie Shuttle bus will just be the 97 regular bus.

Sunday is the only day of the week that I absolutely have to be on time at work. I just assume the trains will be running on one track, or the Red Line will be running above ground, or they suddenly decide on Saturdays the trains won't be running at all or something. I take a couple of buses that probably get me here faster than the trains would.

I was at Howard & signs stating that the so-called shuttle replacing the Swift was running inbound only before the Cub game & outbound only after the Cub game.
Otherwise, it was the 97 bus.

Minor complaint, but Saturday night I was trying to ride the Red Line back from Armitage to Sedgwick (instead of Clark/Division), and all the faregates at Armitage were set to "do not enter." Every last one of them. First time in my life I jumped one.
There was a customer assistant in his booth who was manually letting people in one by one through the locked "bicycle gate." I don't understand the point of this...trains were running...

Oh, they also closed the Red Line subway at about 8:15-8:30 on Friday, rather than 9:00. That made my night a bit more inconvenient than I was planning on.
