Top Tattler Tales of 2008: December - new CTA Web site, three-track farewell

December began with news that the CTA was racking down on "continuous riders" -- what some folks saw as a thinly veiled campaign to keep the homeless from riding trains all night. And at the December CTA board meeting, Prez Ron Huberman recapped improved communications channels for riders coming in 2009. The CTA also launched a much improved Web site as the first step in improving communications.

Ron also said track repair work had resulted in slow zones on less than 7% of the rails -- down from more than 22% a year prior.

The almost two-year three-tracking program finally ended in December. And that led to the CTA increasing service on the Red, Brown and Purple lines. And I enumerated other welcome gifts the CTA gave us in 2008.

And unfortunately, we reported on more CTA sexual perverts.

We had some fun in December, including a Tattler meet-up on the Holidy Train.

Here's to a safe, fun and happy trails on the CTA in 2009!
