Top Tattler Tales of 2008: September - layoffs, SRO cars, and promises of better rider communication
First, Happy 2009 to all my Tattler readers! Now, on with my review of 2008.
September was a month of CTA layoffs and cuts, the debut of SRO cars on the Brown Line, and the early finish of slow zone work in the Red Line subway tunnel.
I also reported that Verizon cell users could now yak and text in the subways, and explained how the CTA was managing its bus tracker rollout.
CTA Tattler and some readers in September had Coffee with Ron, who promised better communication with readers in 2009, both on the rails and for bus riders. Huberman also discussed the financial pressures the CTA was facing, and what the CTA was doing to reduce bus gaps.
I also made one rant against the "chicken bones doofus."
Finally, we announced the launch of CTA Tweets on Twitter.
